Do you have the right body posts?

Hurricane Body - the original spare part for Hurricane remote-controlled car.

NOTE! Bodies don't fit directly between models! 

The different bodies don't fit directly between models—and this goes both ways.

If your car originally came with the standard Hurricane body (photo 1) and you want to switch to a Storm or Rock Racer body (photos 2, 11-17), you'll need a different body post to make it all fit.

The same applies the other way around: If your car originally has a Truck or Rock Racer body and you want to install a standard Hurricane body, it also requires a different body post.

The Lightning body fits on a Hurricane with the standard body (photo 1).

In short: You can swap bodies, but only if you also change the body post.
