All about Drone ST16B

Description

The Drone ST16B is for those who just want to fly. No camera, no app, no livestream—just a transmitter, drone, and up to 20 minutes of flight time per battery. It may sound simple, but many people actually prefer it: no registration as a drone pilot, no phone configuration, and a focus on what really matters—learning to fly.

No Camera—And It's Intentional

Most drones in this category have a camera because customers expect it. The ST16B does not. This is a deliberate choice, offering three real advantages:

  • No pilot registration. Without a camera on the drone, you don't need to register as a drone pilot with the Danish Transport Authority. Unpack, charge, and fly.
  • Simple transmitter, no app. You use a regular 2.4 GHz transmitter without a screen. No smartphone to attach, nothing to download, no accounts to create.
  • Full focus on flying. With the camera not stealing your attention, you use all your senses to control the drone—it's the fastest way to really learn.

If you want a camera and live streaming, the M6 Zoomer in the same price range is the obvious choice instead. The ST16B cannot be upgraded with a camera.

Brushless Motors at This Price—A Rare Combo

The ST16B features brushless motors, which is unusual in this price range. Most drones under 500 kr have brushed motors, which wear out quickly and lack power. Brushless motors are more efficient, more powerful, and last significantly longer. Combined with the large 1600 mAh LiPo battery, this gives up to 20 minutes of flight time per charge. That's impressive in this class.

There are cheaper drones that look like the ST16B—always check the specs. Brushless motors and battery size are what set the ST16B apart from the cheap lookalikes.

What You Get

  • Brushless motors—more power, longer lifespan than brushed
  • 1600 mAh LiPo battery—up to 20 minutes flight time per charge
  • Barometric altitude hold—keeps the drone at the same height
  • 6-axis gyro—stable flight, easier for beginners to control
  • 3 speed settings—from calm (for beginners) to fast (for the experienced)
  • Automatic take-off and landing
  • STOP button—stops the drone immediately if you panic and see a collision ahead
  • Powerful LED light—keeps track of orientation in low light
  • Range up to 60 m—great for open spaces, but keep it within sight
  • Starting weight 142 g—under the lightest EU category
  • Comes in a practical case with all accessories

Outdoor—But Watch the Wind

The ST16B is designed for outdoor flying and is more powerful than the really small indoor drones. But at 142 g, it’s still in the wind-sensitive category—fine for a calm day in the park or garden, but on a windy day, it can quickly be blown off course. Rule of thumb: If it's flapping outside, keep the drone home.

With altitude hold, it's also a drone you can bring to the summer house or on vacation without worrying too much about the landscape. It can handle a soft landing on grass.

Who Is the ST16B For?

The ST16B is for those who want to learn to fly a drone without distractions from cameras, apps, and registration. It’s perfect as a first drone for new pilots, as a gift for someone who just wants to try it out, or for those who don’t want their flying documented on video. If you want a camera and live streaming for social media, check out the M6 Zoomer instead.

What Can You Expect for the Price?

The ST16B is a toy drone, not a professional aircraft. It can handle regular collisions and soft landings on grass, but propellers and arms can be damaged by hard crashes or impacts, so extra propellers are included in the box. We also have spare propellers and extra batteries in stock.

The drone comes assembled and ready to fly. You'll need 3 × AA batteries for the transmitter and a USB adapter (max 1A, a smartphone one will do) to charge the drone.
