Description
The Traxxas Rustler 2WD Brushless is a lightweight stadium truck that just begs for you to give it more throttle. With rear-wheel drive and a low center of gravity, it delivers a super responsive, lively driving experience – and with a 3S LiPo battery, you can hit speeds up to 96 km/h. For starters, 2S power keeps things fast but makes the car easier to get to know.
What makes the Rustler 2WD special is how connected you feel to the car. It rockets forward, turns sharply, and there's just enough playfulness in the rear end to let you steer with the throttle. Chunky Sledgehammer ST tires and a low chassis make it a blast to drive on asphalt, hard-packed gravel, and firm dirt.
Traxxas has upgraded this model with the VX3 brushless system, metal-gear servo, 32 pitch gearing, GTR shocks, and Extreme Heavy Duty parts. The clipless body pops off in seconds, and the fixed wheelie bar is ready for action whenever you punch the throttle on grippy surfaces.
Training Mode sets the top speed at 50%, making it easy for most people to get started. The electronics are water-resistant for wet weather and damp tracks, but don’t submerge the car. Always dry and service your car after running in the wet.
Traxxas Rustler 2WD Brushless Highlights:
- Lightweight 2WD stadium truck with a low center of gravity and sharp, direct handling
- VX3 brushless system – up to 64 km/h on 2S and 96 km/h on 3S LiPo
- GTR shocks, metal-gear servo, and Extreme Heavy Duty components
What’s new with VX3?
VX3 is Traxxas’ latest 3S brushless power system featuring the Velineon V3200 motor, cooling fan, and three drive modes. Sport Mode is perfect for everyday driving with forward, brake, and reverse. Race Mode disables reverse for pure speed, and Training Mode caps both forward and reverse at 50% – ideal for your first outings.
The TQi Sport remote comes with Traxxas Stability Management (TSM), which helps keep you pointed straight when traction is low – but 96 km/h is still a lot of speed. Use 3S batteries only in big, open spaces away from people, vehicles, and obstacles. The remote takes 4 AA batteries.
Who’s the Rustler 2WD for?
Rustler 2WD is perfect if you want the most direct and lively feel of the four VX3 cars. It’s lighter than the 4x4 version and gives you that classic rear-wheel-drive vibe, but it also asks more from you as the speed cranks up. If you’d prefer more stability and grip, check out the Rustler 4x4 Brushless.
The Rustler 2WD is built to be driven hard, but a speedy car deserves a once-over after a tough session. Check the wheels, suspension, and drivetrain, and always dry off the car after running in the wet. Find Traxxas spare parts here if your ride needs a part or a little TLC in the workshop.
